Ike is gone. Like his friend Barry White, he was a genius, a so elegant composer, a marvelous baritone crooner. Requiescat in pace, Ike ! And thank you so much, Love Unlimited, for this tribute.

Yes, he will be missed. I liked his Chef character in South Park, which is a kind of self parody of course. And in a way you can say that ‘Shaft’ was the first step into disco. The string and vocal arrangements are copied so many times. Barry White, for instance, built his career upon them. And his golden chains were an inspiration for B.A. Baracus (Mr. T.) and many hiphop artists later on.
