From Chicago The Chuck Brothers formed back in 1987. The original line-up included Rich (Rahaan) & Ken (afrodesia). Along with the other members they were a dancing group who loved to crommence friendly battle with other dance groups at the parties they attended in Chicago. Collecting tapes of Ron Hardy & other DJ’s like Lil Louis around the chi-town area along the way.
Some of the group went on to become DJ,s including Rahaan, Booda, Ameer & afrodesia. Buying his first mixer in 1989 afrodesia increased his record buying, originally using tapes as a source for the unreleased & underground Chicago sounds spinning at various parties across the city
Rahaan returned to Chicago during the summer of 95 and joined afrodesia for a Sunday night residency. Soon after this afrodesia was ready for a break from spinning as a result he gave Rahaan the equipment & the records he owned at the time and told him” It’s Your Turn, to carry the load”
Today afrodesia is still a member of the Chuck Brothers & also runs his own design studio afrodesia mediaworks his work includes producing websites and flyers for the House scene in Chicago. Visit both for more mixes.
