Daddio is a Nottingham based local hero of a DJ that has been s
pinning records for over 25 years and collecting them for even longer. A self confessed vinyl addict and quite happy with it – he doesn’t go in for self promotion so we approached him for a mix.
His first love was Northern Soul but it wasn’t long before funk and disco took a hold which developed in to Jazz Funk and then Jazz in its many forms.
Currently he spins at ‘Out to Lunch’ at various venues in Nottingham – Out to Lunch is a pure Jazz Dance session attracting dancers from all over the country and has recently celebrated it’s ten year birthday. Apart from that you might also catch a Daddio appearance at Basement Boogaloo, Soul Buggin, Do it Fluid and Hemulen Sound System.
Daddio was lucky enough to have a residency at the legendary Bomb before it closed its doors. The mix that he has put together for us is typical of one of his live sets, and it includes an amazing steel band version of The Love Unlimited Orchestra’s Love’s Theme. Enjoy!
