Chaka Khan was born in 1953 and was raised on the south side of the windy city Chicago. We love our girl Chaka and she gets honourary membership to the love unlimited hall of fame for her contribution to soul music.
Here from 1981 we have the very soulful Any Old Sunday.

Man, just like a breath of fresh air, this song is. Chaka with her trademark (background vocals in harmony), she gradually gears this song up, starting out with clear conviction…building up to the closing wails (always welcome in my book). This song has fresh, jazzy instrumentation as well. Some of Chaka’s best work is on this Arif Mardin produced album, ‘What Cha’ Gonna Do For Me”.

You gotta love Chaka, I can still remember the first time I heard this, very fond memories.
LP wise I love the Quincy Jones produced Masterjam.
Cheers Wood-Daddy
PS: More Chaka on it’s way…
