Forthcoming on one of our favourite Japanese labels, indeed one of the best around, is KZA’s (half of Force of Nature) first solo album D.A.E (Dig and Edit). From what we’ve heard so far, we’re in for a massive treat.
DIG AND EDIT is KZA’s first solo album, and was produced with fellow Endless Flight artist Kuniyuki aka Koss. The 11 tracks on the album have strong parallels with the Force of Nature sound, and are made from samples of KZA’s favourite finds of obscure old records ranging from jazz, rock, and disco.
We heard a murmer that KZA is going to come over to London to play at the Bad Passion party next month.
Look out for info via this Facebook group. One of the Bad Passion DJs, Dan Mitchell, works at Oki-Ni, who have announced a special collaboration with Mule Musiq to celebrate the launch of the album.
They will be stocking the album 2 weeks before any other stores, and have produced a small run of limited edition box sets. These beautifully constructed sets contain the following items:

KZA “Dig and Edit” album sampler 12 Vinyl – 3 tracks album sampler featuring On&On&On, Communication Satellite and Open Up (Slow Version).

“Dig and Edit” pin badge – Black gloss pin badge with “Dig and Edit” logo.
The contents are housed in a matt-finish yellow and black heavy-duty card box, with black Mule Musiq logo on the lid, and silver embossed oki-ni text on the underside.
