For the past year the busy & talented folks at djhistory have been working on a bunch of books that are to be published under the DJhistory.com name and they’ve almost completed the first one.
Here’s a short summary about the publication from Bill Brewster – “Initially inspired by the artist and curator Matthew Higgs at the White Columns gallery in New York. Matthew had collected together Vince’s old disco columns for Record World, which ran between 1974 and 1978, as a way of promoting an exhibition of Vince’s.
So we thought we’d get in touch with Vince to see if he might be interested in putting a book together that collected his Record World columns, as well as other disco-related pieces that he’d written back in the 1970s (these days Vince is photography critic at the New Yorker). He agreed and we’ve been furiously working on it ever since, tracking down missing columns, looking for cool (and previously unpublished) disco pics and scanning scores of record sleeves”.
The book is coming out in late April but you can pre-order over at DJhistory.com right now and whilst you make your purchase you can listen to this slice of disco soul “Dance & Free Your Mind” by Sins of Satan originally released on Buddah Records.

Good to haer the book will be out in April…will there be a Special Edition please?
Hi David, not too sure about a Special Edition although I know if you pre-order you get a bonus mix CD.
